LAPAROSCOPIC SURGERY

Laparoscopy is a type of surgical procedure that allows a surgeon to access the inside of the abdomen (tummy) and pelvis without having to make large incisions in the skin. This procedure is also known as keyhole surgery or minimally invasive surgery. Large incisions can be avoided during laparoscopy because the surgeon uses an instrument called a laparoscope. This is a small tube that has a light source and a camera, which relays images of the inside of the abdomen or pelvis to a television monitor. Laparoscopy is most commonly used in gynaecology (the study and treatment of conditions that affect the female reproductive system), gastroenterology (the study and treatment of conditions that affect the digestive system) and urology (the study and treatment of conditions that affect the urinary system).

BARIATRIC SURGERY

Weight-loss surgery, also called bariatric surgery, is an option for individuals who are overweight with or without obesity related issues like diabetes and hypertension . Weight-loss surgery limits the amount of food you're able to comfortably eat or decreases the absorption of food and calories or both. While weight-loss surgery offers the best chance of losing the most weight, it can pose serious risks. Weight-loss surgery for obesity may be considered if you have tried other methods to lose weight that haven't worked and:

GASTROINTESTINAL SURGERY

All intra-abdominal surgeries are known as Gastrointestinal surgeries . These surgeries can be on the Intestine or the solid organs within the abdomen. These can be done through the Laparoscopic route or through open surgical route . The choice of the surgery is usually either given to the patient of the surgeon chooses the form of the surgery according to the patients disease and the safety of the procedure in a given setting. These surgeries include simple surgeries like Gall Bladder surgeries and all the malignancies associated with the intra-abdominal organs and organ transplantation. All the General surgeons are trained to tackle Gastrointestinal emergencies including gastrointestinal malignancies.

LAPAROSCOPIC HERNIA REPAIR

During this minimally invasive procedure, the surgeon operates through several small incisions in your abdomen. A small tube equipped with a tiny camera (laparoscope) is inserted into one incision. Guided by the camera, the surgeon inserts tiny instruments through another incision to repair the hernia using synthetic mesh. Most people who have laparoscopic repair experience less discomfort and scarring after surgery and a quicker return to normal activities. Minimal Access surgery may be a good choice for people who are young, whose hernias recur after traditional hernia surgery because it allows the surgeon to avoid scar tissue from the earlier repair

SINGLE INCISION SURGERY

In this type of surgery, the surgeon uses a single incisional port, usually the umbilicus, to enter the abdomen and access the area that needs to be operated. This surgery is also called single port surgery. The advantage of this approach is that the patient will have less pain and virtually no scars will be evident later. Most laparoscopic surgery procedures follow a multi-port approach, which require more number of incisions to be made on the body. The single incision procedure is largely used in gallbladder and appendix removal etc. This surgery has the potential to change the way bariatric and esophageal surgeries are performed.

GENERAL SURGERY

Hemorrhoids, also called piles, are swollen and inflamed veins in your anus and lower rectum. Piles, may result from straining during bowel movements or from the increased pressure on these veins during pregnancy, among other causes. These may be located inside the rectum , or they may develop under the skin around the anus. Piles are common ailments. By age 50, about half of adults have had to deal with the itching, discomfort and bleeding that can signal the presence of hemorrhoids. Fortunately, many effective options are available to treat hemorrhoids. Most people can get relief from symptoms by using home treatments and making lifestyle changes.
